Exciting updates to the Lexus UX 250h: new technology, improved handling and more choice

Lexus is introducing a package of updates to its popular compact luxury SUV, the UX, this summer, focusing on a variety of trims, improved multimedia and connectivity, and a sporty new F SPORT Design trim level. These innovations will be available to test by choosing the plug-in hybrid UX 250h model.

Modern services

Depending on the equipment level, Lexus multimedia systems are equipped with 8- or 12-inch central screens, in which touch technology replaces the previous control with a controller built into the central console. Thanks to significantly higher computing power, they respond faster to commands and provide access to real-time road and traffic information, making travel planning much easier.

The system with a 12-inch screen has built-in navigation, so it can be used in places where there is no connection to the digital data cloud (remote server).

The new voice command recognition system makes it possible to use the Hey Lexus internal assistant. This makes it easier to give voice commands to make calls, control the infotainment and music system, climate control functions and browse the Internet.

Apple CarPlay or Android Auto smartphone integration is available on all UX trim levels, and multimedia system software updates can be downloaded wirelessly via an in-car data transfer module.

The multimedia system can now save personal preferences for up to three people, including infotainment and navigation settings.

Lexus aims to convey the famous tradition of Omotenashi (Japanese for Hospitality) hospitality, so owners of the new model can use the Lexus Link app on their smartphones. It allows you to unlock or lock the doors, as well as remotely control the air conditioning system, so that the cabin can be cooled or heated before the trip.

The new F SPORT Design equipment level will add sporty elements

The new F SPORT Design trim level includes an F SPORT-style spindle grille with a black L-motif mesh pattern and a chrome lower surround. The latter detail highlights the car's powerful stance. The 18-inch diameter 10-spoke F SPORT light-alloy wheels with a dark metallic finish only enhance this impression.

In the updated UX F SPORT specification, adaptive variable suspension and front and rear anti-roll bars become standard equipment. These elements improve the model's handling, chassis response and ride quality on a variety of road surfaces.

The Adaptive Variable Suspension Control System has been tuned to smoothly adapt to high damping force under certain conditions, so the car's behavior changes less abruptly when the road surface deteriorates. Tuning the system has reduced high and mid-frequency vibrations.

Among the improvements for the 2022 model is an even stronger body. Its rigidity is increased by additional point seams on the lower edges of the openings of the side and rear body elements. Harder steel is used to strengthen the trunk lid.

New exterior color, two-tone painting and interior changes

Along with other UX updates comes the new Sonic Platinum color. This special paint uses advanced Lexus technology: a layer just a few microns thick brings the metallized paint particles closer together, resulting in a particularly smooth, deeper shade and a more even shine on the car's body.

The updated range includes a wider selection of two-tone bodies. Now six colors can be combined with the contrasting black roof when choosing the F SPORT or F SPORT Design trims.

In the cabin, all upholstery - whether fabric, synthetic or genuine leather - can be finished in the new Hazel finish. This option is available on all UX versions except F SPORT.

Enhancements to the Lexus Safety System+ suite of safety features on the UX model have improved the performance of the collision avoidance system. After installing the turn assist function in the equipment, the driver can turn left and right at road intersections more safely. The additionally equipped emergency driving assistance system helps to avoid obstacles without straying from your lane.

Adaptive Cruise Control now includes a cornering speed reduction function that automatically adjusts the car's speed to safely negotiate bends on a winding road.

All upgrades are offered on UX 250h models from summer 2022. The updated car can already be ordered in Lithuania.
