Mazda is introducing the new CX-60 to the European urban SUV market, the company's first vehicle to feature plug-in hybrid technology. The CX-60 expands Mazda's SUV range and is the first of two new large models to be launched in Europe over the next two years.
Design language improvements
The impressive force of Mazda CX-60's dynamic styling conveys the intelligence and elegance of the latest Kodo design language enhancements. This language is based on the Japanese concept of 'Ma', which evokes the serenity of empty space and the beauty of the weather. All of this is combined with the robustness of a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive SUV architecture.
The headlight design of this model is completely new to the Mazda range. Unlike previous models, Mazda CX-60 headlights are arranged in the shape of the letter "L", which creates a never-before-seen image and emphasizes the solidity of the SUV.
The elegant, premium interior design expresses Kaichou's ideas more than ever, a kind of harmony that combines different materials and textures, such as maple wood, Nappa leather, uniquely treated Japanese textiles and chrome elements. The interior also reflects the "Musubu" binding art that inspired the special quilting of the instrument panel.
Human comfort technologies have been refined to meet the Jinba-Ittai philosophy and meet the individual needs of the driver more than ever. Mazda's innovative driver personalization system will automatically recognize the person sitting in the driver's seat and adjust the entire environment accordingly: the position of the seat, steering wheel, side mirrors, video projection on the windshield, even audio and climate control options to suit the driver's body type. , and personal preferences.
The Mazda CX-60 is 4,745 mm long, 1,890 mm wide, 1,680 mm high and has a wheelbase of 2,870 mm. The car interior is extremely spacious. The width of the shoulder space reaches 1,504 mm at the front seats (44 mm more than the CX-5 model) and 1,441 mm at the rear seats (50 mm more than the CX-5 model).
The trunk space reaches 570 liters, and when the rear seats are folded down, it increases to 1,148 liters. If, after folding the seats, you decided to fill the luggage space up to the ceiling, it would increase to 1,726 liters.
Mazda's most powerful car to date
Coming to Europe, the Mazda CX-60 plug-in hybrid features a powerful Skyactiv-G 2.5L four-cylinder direct-injection petrol engine paired with a 100kW electric motor and 355V, 17.8kWh capacity battery.
This combination results in a total system output of 327 hp (241 kW) and a torque of 500 Nm. These figures show that the CX-60 is Mazda's most powerful road car.
In addition, the hybrid is charged from the network up to 100 km/h. accelerates in just 5.8 seconds, and its maximum speed is electronically limited to 200 km/h. According to WTLP tests, fuel consumption in mixed mode is 1.5 l/100 km and CO₂ emissions are 33 g/km.
The Mazda CX-60 can travel up to 63 km on electric power alone, when the car's speed reaches up to 100 km/h.
The engineers decided to mount the high-voltage battery between the front and rear axles, as low as possible. As a result, the plug-in hybrid car has an extremely low center of gravity.
This, combined with optional permanent all-wheel drive, which also includes a system that distributes the torque between the axles, gives the SUV excellent handling characteristics on par with the best models in the premium segment.
Along with the new model, Mazda will also offer a completely new generation of engines, designed according to the "right size" concept. The latter requires optimizing the engine's displacement to use fuel and energy as efficiently as possible.
The new model will be equipped with a new generation of in-line six-cylinder, 3-liter e-Skyactiv X gasoline and 3.3-liter e-Skyactiv D diesel engines. The latter will be offered in two different power options.
Both "hearts" also have the M Hybrid Boost system - Mazda's 48V mild hybrid technology, so these engines are characterized by high power, excellent fuel consumption and low emissions. These powerplants will be able to be paired with a new eight-speed automatic transmission and Mazda's active all-wheel drive.
Mazda's intelligent driving mode system Mi-Drive allows the driver to choose one of four different modes (the plug-in hybrid model also has an additional EV mode) to ensure optimal car control and driving pleasure in all driving conditions.
The new car is built on the Skyactiv Multi-Solution Scalable Architecture modular architecture platform. The improved architecture makes it possible to create cars with dynamic driving sensations.
Mazda engineers pay a lot of attention to the needs of the driver and passengers, so improvements to the platform, including body stiffness, allow the driver to feel the response of the vehicle to his actions without any delay. Thanks to the special design of the seats, all the occupants of the car can maintain stability when the car is moving. This is ensured by the suspension that optimally stabilizes the car's movements and the unique body control system - Kinematic Posture Control (KPC) - installed by Mazda engineers in the new model.
Aim for 5 Euro NCAP safety stars

The rich package of advanced driving assistants and safety technologies "i-Activsense" installed in the Mazda CX-60 ensures the highest active safety results and allows you to achieve the goal of maximum evaluation during the Euro NCAP safety tests - a five-star safety rating.
Several new active safety systems are installed in the Mazda CX-60. The new generation 360-degree See-Through View monitor installed in the car improves visibility when driving at low speeds. The Hill Descent Control (HDC) system installed in the new model helps to overcome extremely steep and slippery or poor surface slopes, the adaptive cruise control system (i-ACC) with traffic sign recognition function supports the possibility of speed limit, as well as the rear cross-traffic alert. oncoming traffic users function and many other systems.
In the interior of the car, directly in front of the driver, there are three main instrument panels: a digital TFT-LCD instrument panel, a huge projection screen on the windshield, as well as a 12.3-inch diagonal screen for the infotainment system installed in the very center of the car's front console.
Music lovers will be delighted by the Mazda Harmonic Acoustics system. Mazda CX-60 models of all equipment levels have dual-zone air conditioning, a central 12.3-inch touch screen, digital radio, Bluetooth interface, the ability to use Apple CarPlay or Android Auto systems wirelessly, satellite navigation and cruise control systems.
