China's largest car manufacturer SAIC, which owns the MG brand, has already started production of the new CyberE model. The new hatchback has been developed in collaboration with the British in order to offer a product that meets the consumer habits and design standards of the global market.
Since the beginning of this project, the European market has been one of the main regions where it was intended to sell this electric car. The new MG, which is determined to compete with the Volkswagen ID.3, will soon arrive in Europe, and its price should start from around 23 thousand. euros.
The first photos of the MG CyberE appeared online back in February. MG EH32 was created by combining new generation EV architecture, smart driving, car interior and its comfort. Much credit goes to the governments of Fujian Province and Ningde City, which have shown strong support and helped resume work and production at SAIC's Ningde factory.
According to MG representatives, the new CyberE will be built on the new EV platform, which supports Level 3 autonomous driving, a smart cabin and 5G connectivity. According to unofficial data, the new MG electric car will have the same powertrain as the MG Marvel R model. It is produced with a twin 288 hp engine or a 284 triple engine configuration and has been on sale in Europe for some time.
As we already mentioned, the MG CyberE hatchback's biggest competitor in this market is the Volkswagen ID.3. Both models feature a similar design and are also sold in the same price bracket. It is clear that the Chinese giant is determined to offer a truly competitive product and is not at all afraid to compete with European manufacturers that are loved by many.
In addition to the upcoming MG CyberE, the Ningde plant produces and exports cars to New Zealand, Europe, Australia, the Middle East and South America, and some other overseas markets. The latter plant has already become China's largest electric vehicle export base. This will help the brand achieve its target of delivering around 120,000 vehicles in Europe by 2022.
